AN ODE TO THE AUTISM DADDY FOR FATHER’S DAY

I have been thinking for a very long time, scouring the internet for the perfect idea, to share my thoughts on who is the Autism Daddy

none of the usual mushy quotes or stories fit the bill, I was at a loss how to pen my thoughts, a rare problem for me, it was only on Thursday night, I was at the retirement ceremony of a beloved teacher and headmaster, a beautiful speech was shared, it was the story that resonated with me, I had found what I wanted to express.

The story is

On a beautiful and cloudless day, a middle-aged couple celebrate their union with a picnic in a field, from the distance a cry of anguish is heard, the man runs towards the sound of an unfolding tragedy, a helium balloon is flying away sideways, an elderly man is struggling with all his might, trying to hold the balloon from flying away, he is clearly overwhelmed, inside the basket of the balloon is his grandson, stiffen with fright. The man runs to hold onto the rope and tries to bring the balloon back to safety, several men run to the aid of the man, and try with all their strength to save the young boy, in the end, tragically, all the men, one by one, let go, self preservation triumphing heroism. Thankfully, the story does not end here, there is one man who holds on with determination, he refuses to let go, … he does not think of himself, he sacrifices himself without thought, he is an inspiration to others, fights mercilessly for what he believes is right, loves deeply to the core, and never lets go ….
